Protein Hit Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026 · Protein and water tracker

The short version: this app keeps your data on your device. We run no servers, we have no account system, and no personal information about you ever reaches us.

What we collect

Nothing reaches us. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone or iPad. There is no account, no login, no server of ours, and nothing is uploaded to us. We cannot see your data because it never reaches us.

Apple Health

The app can write the protein and water you log into Apple Health, and read those values back, but only after you explicitly turn the feature on and grant permission in iOS. Health data is stored by Apple in HealthKit on your device. It is never transmitted to us, never used for advertising, never shared with third parties, and never used for anything except showing you your own totals. You can revoke access at any time in Settings, Health, Data Access & Devices. Deleting the app stops all further writes.

Camera

Used only for the nutrition label scanner. The camera is used only to read text from what you point it at, using Apple's on-device Vision framework. The image is processed on your device and is not uploaded anywhere. Nothing is stored unless you choose to save it.

Photos

Photo library access is used only to let you pick an image yourself. The app cannot browse your library on its own, and any image you pick is processed on your device.

Not medical advice

Protein Hit is a logging tool for general wellness, not a medical device. Its targets are general guidelines and not personalised nutritional or medical advice. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you are pregnant, have a kidney condition, diabetes, or any other medical condition.

Reminders

If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. No reminder content passes through any server.

How purchases work

Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your name, payment card, or billing address. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase is currently active. You can view, change, or cancel a subscription at any time in iOS Settings under your Apple Account, and cancelling takes no more steps than subscribing did.

Tracking and advertising

No analytics, no advertising, no advertising identifier, no tracking pixels, no third-party SDKs that profile you, and no data brokers. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives on your own device, you are always in control of it. You can delete individual items inside the app, or delete the app itself, which removes its data from your device. There is no account for us to delete because there is no account. If the app syncs through your iCloud, deleting the item on one device removes it from the others, and you can remove the app's iCloud data in iOS Settings under your Apple Account.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because no personal information reaches us from any user, there is no children's data for us to hold, disclose, or delete. Parents with questions can contact us at the address below.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and the CCPA in California, give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, and to object to its sale. We can honour all of these trivially: we hold no personal information about you at all, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, sell, or hand over. Your data is already in your hands, on your device. We do not sell or share personal information, and never have. If you want to exercise a right or simply ask what we hold, write to us and we will answer within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
