The short version: your documents stay on your device and never reach us, and there is no account. From version 4.2, new installs send a few anonymous usage counts, with no identifier and nothing from your pages.

What we collect

Your documents, the text read from them and the PDFs you make never reach us. They are stored and processed on your device. The only thing the app sends to us is a small set of anonymous usage counts, and only on installs that started with version 4.2 or later. Each count is an event name, such as “a scan was saved” or “the Pro sheet was shown”, with the date, the app version, the app language, the App Store country and which version of a screen you were shown. It carries no identifier of any kind: no device ID, no advertising ID, no account, no name and nothing from your documents, so two counts cannot be linked to each other or to you. We use the totals only to see where people get stuck and to improve the app, and we keep them for up to 24 months. The same installs also download a small settings file from us that decides which version of a screen they see; that request sends nothing about you. Our hosting provider necessarily sees a connection's IP address in order to deliver it, as with any website, and we do not store it with the counts. Installs from before version 4.2 send nothing at all.

Camera

The camera is used only to read text from what you point it at, using Apple's on-device Vision framework. The image is processed on your device and is not uploaded anywhere. Nothing is stored unless you choose to save it.

Your scans

Scanned documents are stored on your device. Text recognition runs on-device with Apple's Vision framework. Your documents are never uploaded to us, and we cannot see them. Be aware that documents you scan may contain sensitive information, so treat exported files accordingly.

Reminders

If you turn on reminders, they are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. No reminder content passes through any server.

How purchases work

Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your name, payment card, or billing address. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase is currently active. You can view, change, or cancel a subscription at any time in iOS Settings under your Apple Account, and cancelling takes no more steps than subscribing did.

Tracking and advertising

No advertising, no advertising identifier, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics or SDKs that profile you, and no data brokers. The anonymous counts described above go only to us and are never combined with data from anyone else. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives on your own device, you are always in control of it. You can delete individual items inside the app, or delete the app itself, which removes its data from your device. There is no account for us to delete, because there is no account.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. Because no personal information reaches us from any user, there is no children's data for us to hold, disclose, or delete. Parents with questions can contact us at the address below.

Your rights

Data-protection laws, including the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (PDPL), the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and the CCPA and CPRA in California, give you rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your personal information, and to object to its sale or to certain processing. We can honour all of these trivially: we hold no personal information about you at all, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, sell, or hand over. Your data is already in your hands, on your device. We do not sell or share personal information, and never have. If you want to exercise a right, or simply ask what we hold, write to us and we will answer within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires.

Who we are, and which law applies

These apps are made by UNREEL (Unreel Creative For Design Services), a business licensed in the Emirate of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (trade licence no. 1619197). For data-protection purposes Unreel Creative For Design Services is the data controller for this app, although, as set out above, the app is built so that no personal data about you ever reaches us. This policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai. Your local consumer and data-protection rights still apply and are not affected by this.

Terms of use

Your use of the app is also covered by our Terms of Use and by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which applies to every app on the App Store.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
